Again I saw them. These ubiquitous mason jars that catch your attention because your mind does a double take when it sees them out of the corner of your eye. "Hey," your mind says, "that's not a Nalgene." This last Saturday as I took my eldest son to Aikido, I saw the mason jar water bottle. Now this is not a new occurrence here on the streets of Portland, Oregon, but I am surprised as to how long I have seen the mason jars and how I have seen the numbers grow. Sure, I understand that glass beats the toxins given off by most plastic bottle, but the idea of carrying around a breakable item in which to drink water, just strikes me as a hard sell. Perhaps it is just me thinking about how many I would break during my day. Here's to you, the woman who totes the mason jar as well as kids to Aikido. I love this town.
Thanks and credit gieven to yesesarebest's photos for the great mason jar photo. Check it out her other photos.
